does PSA denote the backs on the flip? If not, there is your answer. You'd have to get Joe agree to differentiate them by the back first, and then request a registry listing.

Basic Registry Sets don't include the different colored backs or variations, but the Master Registry Sets do. A 1956 Topps Mantle "White" or "Gray" back will be noted as such on the flip.

In addition to the basic and master sets, they recently added what they're calling a super set. The super set requires you to get white backs and gray backs for each card from 1-180. Quite the challenge.

The Super Set is listed on PSA's website. It is daunting, paricularly the team variations and some of the stars with w/b in the 101-180 range. But it seems like a cool challenge, although finding a nice w/b Dodgers Team might be tuff.
I've started this in raw form, and am finding it a lot of fun.
Kiss me once, shame on you. Kiss me twice.....let's party.
