I play my Gibson Les Paul custom everyday, the sound is just awesome.

    RIP image
  • Total bummer, but 94 is a good run.

Now maybe Waukesha, WI will replace the decrepit wood sign they have in Waukesha that reads "birthplace of Les Paul" with something that looks a little better. And now they can tear down the Walgreens they built, after tearing down his birth home (they said they didn't know), and put up a museum or something.

Well I must say that driving through Waukesha is a nightmare. It has to be one of the worst mapped out places I have seen. And this comes from someone who drives for a living. I agree, nothing good comes out of there!

Yes, driving in Waukesha is the biggest nightmare I've ever experienced driving-wise. Luckily I live right on the East edge, between there and Brookfield, so it's not too bad for me. Plus I'm moving in Oct. anyway.

The Bodeans are also from Waukesha.

    RIP to a true legend.

I was lucky to see him in a jam session at the House of Blues in Hollywood with Slash and Steve Vai. Wow what a night.
    The man was truly gifted.

Ummm, I live in Waukesha and my wife works for Walgreen's. Not "that" one in Waukesha though. So, does that mean I am no good 'cause I drive in Waukesha (one strike), my wife works for Walgreen's (strike two) and I drive out of Waukesha every day for work (strike three)

    Am I out?

If it walks like a cheesehead - talks like a cheesehead - smells like a cheesehead -

    It's probably a cheesehead

For anyone who knows anything about the history of electric guitars, Les Paul literally changed the world. This guy invented the instrument as we know it today in the late 40s-early 50s.

    RIP Les

Just an FYI for you guitar players....did you know that Gibson originally wanted to put Les Paul's name on the guitar that eventually became the SG? Paul wouldnt let them because he hated the design. So his name was put on a more traditionally shaped guitar.

As one of the senior guys here - I actually saw him with his wife perform on TV in the 50s when they had like a 10 or 15 minute time slot.

He was a pioneer - a great musician. I'm sad.

As a guitar player - I have a special feeling for him even tho I don't play one of his guitars.

    Goodbye Les.
