Another fake on Ebay?

This guy had a Matsui 09 Heritage card signed a few months back that was just awful. It was disappointing because it was the only matsui signed heritage card I had seen on the bay.

Here is a small list of of known E-bay forgers and fakes. I hope this can help us in the future. If you have any sellers to add to the list please do so.

thewood37 - love to sell fakes of Rose, Schmidt and other stars
worm90 - now doing FB fakes as well as Baseball
wonderfulcollection - hockey forger but some BB stars
mendell - sells some real commons and only fake stars
60ft-6in - is expert forger, but not careful. Forges 3 jeters look all dif
wozniak60 - the latest forger doing BB cards, all bad
oldcloset - was banned as Dupont22 for selling fakes

The seller bbnewstuff09 sells alot of fake Yankee autos. He says he gets them all at steiner signings, but they are all written by the same hand.

So do you have any good tips that can keep someone from purchasing a fake auto? Like buying auto cards that have COA's on the card? etc...

Research the sellers fb, buying/selling history

Know the players auto

Know the card history -ie was that buyback really issued etc.

Look for red flags, eg- sometimes private fb is one, multiple signed items that sell for below market,has alot of auto'd items and no valid expliantion of how they were obtained etc

I only buy autos of 2 players, and that info is pretty basic, but should help.

yeah, manufacture issued autos are best. Lookout for sticker/Chrome auto removal due to fading/bubbling and being 're-autod'
