Results of first submission to JSA/BVG

First time I've sent anything in to JSA for authentication (I just normally buy items already authenticated by them), but a buddy of mine asked if I could submit a couple of cards for him, and I decided to make it a larger submission. I decided to just go for the authenticate and encapsulate option. Here are the results:

ItemID Set Name Player Final Grade
6187869 1933 Goudey Dick Bartell Authentic
6187868 1933 Goudey Spud Davis Authentic
6187867 1933 Goudey Phil Collins Authentic
6187866 1933 Goudey Tommy Thevenow Authentic
6187865 1933 Goudey Tony Piet Authentic
6187864 1933 Goudey Earle Combs Authentic
6187863 1934-36 Batter-Up Ed Brandt Authentic
6187862 1911 Mecca Double Folders T201 B.Bergen/Z.Wheat Authentic
6187861 1911 Mecca Double Folders T201 Doyle/Meyers Authentic
6187860 1968-70 Partridge Meats * Johnny Bench Authentic

The Mecca Double Folder cards are signed by Zach Wheat and Larry Doyle respectivly (those were the cards that weren't mine). The Batter up Ed Brandt and Johnny Bench cards had L of A's from JSA, but I wanted them holdered (especially the Bench). All of the Goudeys but were PSA/DNA certified, and I figured this was as good a time as any to get them in for slabbing. I'm really happy about the Combs, as that is one that will get scanned then get put into the permanent collection along with the Bench.

I'll post scans of the individual cards when they arrive later this week. Now to prepare a new batch to send in.

The cards are back, and all scanned. I scanned the backs too, but won't post them unless asked. I've watermarked the images to prevent image theft. Here we go:

I know the Brandt is missing the sides of the card, but considering he passed away in 1944, it's not like there are a lot of signed card options.

    Outstanding specimens Sean!

Brings back memories of a time when players use to signed their names .... LEGIBLY! "Laughing Larry" (Doyle) probably signed that card in the very early '70s. I have a baseball he signed around that time, shortly before he passed away, and the sig is almost identical.

    Thanks for sharing and congrats!

Thanks gang. I'm going to get another bunch in later this month (a full batterup Earl Averill, a nice Diamond Stars Bottomley and Greenberg, some 39 Playballs, etc.). I need to see what it would cost to get some old SGC/JSA slabbed cards converted over, as I'd love to get my Goudey Paul Waner over.
