Would this bust quarter slab?

Here it is under normal light and shows a pretty close representation of what it looks like in hand.

Here is a close up of the surface. Its kind of murky and there is a small scratch/gouge that erupts from the die crack near the throat. Would the surface or the scratch be enough to bag it?

    I am not sure that coin in a slab really will do much for the value- that is a taylor made Bust quarter for an album type set... and yes, I am serious about the commentary

    Not sure if it will slab, and I dont think the hits you mentioned would keep it out of plastic. The cracks are great looking, front and back!

    I think it would slab, without seeing it in hand, I give it about a 75% shot.

    Yeah...many times it just means.....duuuuh, we aren't entirely sure. It tends to be the problem designation when they aren't exactly sure what the problem is...they just don't quite like it. Could be the color of the toning or whatever is going on below the date...i don't know. Wait a while and resubmit if you think they are wrong.

    It's probably been lightly cleaned and recolored some time ago, as most of these old pieces are. But, I'm surprised that it did not grade. Looks like a very nice coin to me, and certainly would look good in a Dansco.image
