Going to look at some unopened Wax this afternoon....

I'm going to look at the '80-'81 GAI 8.5 Basketball box I mentioned the other day as well as a few others the guy has. Some of the stuff includes '83 Topps Football, '84 Topps Football (unmarked straight from case/he says), '85 Donruss baseball, '85 Topps baseball wax, '85 Topps baseball Cello, '81 Fleer, '84 Topps baseball wax, '84 Topps Vending, '86 Topps Rack box, '86 Fleer , and a '72-'73 Topps Basketball box in pristine condition he says. He also has a '74 Topps Football wax box GAI 8.5 but I probably wouldn't be interested in it at the price he's gonna want. What would be the best of this stuff to make offers on and what should those offers be? ballpark. Thoughts?

    Best in order
    1972-73 BK Box 2000-2200
    1980-81 BK box 850-900
1974 FB box, 800 isnt that much to invest on it
I wouldnt mess with the rest

Unless 1984 FB 280.00 and buy the case at that rate

Exactly what I was thinking, lol. I probably won't buy any of it cause I usually low ball a pretty good bit and then either refuse to budge or he'll get so pissed he refuses to budge, lol.

The seller is an older guy. He's pretty nice but you can tell he really doesn't give a damn if he sells or not. Most of this stuff has dust on it, or at least it did the last time I was in his store. He owns an antique's and collectibles store and has a case in the back with cards in it from when he briefly got into collecting 20+ years ago. He has some ridiculous prices on them, but I've already contacted him and he says he really needs to sell some of this stuff. He also has a few Mantle's. We'll see.

AH ... this is the same guy you wrote about a couple of months ago. I remember you telling us what he wanted for the 70s stuff. I thought it was a mistake at first ... his asking prices were CRAZY!

72-72 basketball - have to do that. I would even buy a pack or two off you if the price is right.
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

With the old timers like us kid, you are much better off not pissing the old guy off. He might kick your ass. Just be nice, and no attitude and give him a decent offer. You will get treated much better...... chaz

lol, I wasn't gonna go in his store and act like I own the place. I'm actually a pretty nice guy to be around as I'm in the retail business as well and have to listen and take everybody's sh*t on a daily basis. That being said, if he doesn't accept my offers then I'm gonna light the '86 Topps Rack box on fire and burn the place to the ground.

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire, we don't need no '86 Topps, let the ___________________ burn!
