Local Sportsbar robbed last night

Players sports bar and grill here in Wichita, KS was broken into and robbed last night.
One of my favorite spots to have a drink at.
2 Babe Ruth autograph balls and a 1985 KC Royals WS Championship ring.

Owner has some awesome memoribilia. Hundreds of thousands dollars worth of stuff.
Can't beleive he doesn't have a safe to put some of his high dollar stuff in at night.

That sucks - although good luck selling those items without someone noticing - especially the ring (assuming he alerts the auction houses, etc).

Hopefuly he can get back all or most of his stuff. I have heard a few stories where the owner got his stuff back, so hope for the best...

Sorry to hear that. How long has Players been there? The name sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it....of course I lived there when I was in college about 15 years ago and all the bars are pretty much a blur from that time period.

And a 1952 Topps Mantle!!

Hopefully he has the PSA Serial Number, could be on ebay some day.

2 Ruth Autograph Balls, if certified could be found in the next few months.

Those are some nice items.

Do you know which players '85 WS Ring it was?

I'd have lo-jack and GPS imbedded in those balls, they're $15K each FMV.

Heritage:
Players is located close to 21st and Tyler on the West side of town. Right across the street from the Sedgwick county lake and Zoo. Been around for at least 10 years i think.
Did you go to WSU? You must of been an Old Town kinda guy.

I have no idea who's WS ring he had. Would like to know myself.
Also heard his Super Bowl 9 ring was taken too.

Don't know the cert # on the Mantle. I might go in this weekend and talk to him. Maybe we could help him out.

I'm sure he's already on top of things though. I know he has contacted the big auction houses.
Should be interesting to see if he can get anything back.
