Wow, interesting auction

1st Japanese MLB player

Undoubetedly bid up by wealthy Japanese collectors. Reminds me to go through my stash of '65 Topps...

I believe Irvinecardco is another OCSI company, which owns PSA Set Guy

    Wow!

I'm guessing this is Registry driven?

HMM.. a very nice PSA 8 went for $26 about two months ago...I bid $30 but something got screwed up with connection and it didn't go through. That's quite a jump from an 8 to a 10.
Kiss me once, shame on you.
    Kiss me twice.....let's party.

    Might be foreign market driven?

    Ross,

I tend to agree with your assumption.

It doesn't appear that any of the top dogs of the '65 registry set were involved (based on updates).

If not foreign market driven, I'd say that it was erroneously pumped up by 2 snipers both thinking that $5,000+ would be more than enough to win the card!

Then again, it could be both of the above!

    Crazy price!

Considering what rare Nomo cards still bring, this hammer price doesn't come as much of a surprise. It's a tough 60s card and a rookie card of a MLB pioneer.

Wow, that is an incredible price for that card...

A few years ago 8's would bring around 75-100 bucks.

    IMO 5k for a 10 is a little high.
