for that money you could probably buy two sealed wax cases. Its not like there isnt 8 billion packs of that stuff lying around.

I had no idea those sold for that much. I have a few raw copies I'll have to dig up

    Impressive.

Don't remember - is it hard to find 10s in that issue?

    It's a pop 12 card in psa 10.

I guess not a lot are sending in that stuff. Doesn't seem that hard to get a 10.
There's 761 PSA 10 Sosa, so it's just a matter of time numbers get inflated for all potential HOF.
Maddux and Ripken are low pop too.... 7 and 12 I think respectively.

Go open a couple cases and a few million packs....and enjoy the 342 9s, and 1 10 you get

The Ripken is a Pop 20 and still pulls over $50 easily...

I would be very happy with a perfectly centered 9. It also has a
nuclear spill on his forearm that comes in two colors.

I saw that auction after it ended. I then had to check the Griffeys in about 10 leftover sets I had laying around. All OC T/B. image

I bought a vending case and submitted the best Thomas RC's and only one came back 10. There are fewer Topps 10's than Leaf 10's for Thomas RC's.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.

Ok, so I have 40 Griffey's and another vending case sitting at home ...

I seem to get psa 9's all the time when sending in what I think are minty ones...

What should I look at on these Griffey's to get a psa10 ?

PS == Since I have a ton of 1990 topps (mainly looking for errors) what else should I keep out of these vending boxes ?

    ?? thanks tree

I opened a few boxes looking for a decent Ripken to sub (which I didn't find) but instead found a nice Thomas that ended up grading a 10. Didn't even think to look at the Griffey's since I thought everyone only wanted the 89 UD. Guess I better hurry to get'em in on this July special...

There are a bunch of people that are looking for "Blackless errors." If you don't understand what I mean by blackless think about the Frank Thomas NNOF and then read this thread: Blackless

I still don't know how to get a PSA 10..

I have a ton of perfectly centered, with no corners dinged, shiny nice clear, psa 9's....

What seperates the 9 from the 10 ?

Look at slipping a Fiver in with the sub right behind the Griffey

    yeah, I know.....

that's the one thing beckett has over psa -- when you don't get the grade you expect -- at least they tell you why.

I think it is an absolute crap shoot on getting a 10.
I would submit 10 or 20 right in a row and you are bound to get one or two tens!

the reason there are 760 sosa psa 10s is that during the i believe 1998 national in chicago, psa was giving away a free 90 topps psa 10 sammy sosa to anyone who gave in a submission or joined psa. If i remember correctly you could choose a 90 topps sosa or 88opc maddux (might have been topps maddux).
