Albany Airport

Arrived at the Albany airport tonight at 11:30 on my way to Cooperstown. Harmon Killebrew was a couple of rows in front of me. They actually had tables set up at the end of baggage claim for people to sign autos. There were about 20 guys waiting with bats and balls. Looks like this is the place to go for free HOF autos.

The highlight though was as i was waiting for my hotel shuttle, Rickey Henderson comes wandering by wearing a white shirt, white pants, a white hat and brown loafers. A security guard asked him how it was going and he responded "I don't know, where am i suppose to be". I hope he gets some directions before Sunday.

It sounds like you've had a pretty interesting start to your Cooperstown weekend. Hope that you will give us all a recap after the ceremonies are done.

Sweet, I was born and raised outside of Albany and have been to the airport many times but nothing like that ever happened. Good luck with the rest of your trip.

Man, I am so jealous of you right now. Have a great time. I would be awe struck if I had Harmon Killebrew sitting in front of me on a plane.

that's awesome, the closest I ever got to an auto at an airport was back when Patrick Ewing was still at Georgetown. He was in the airport in Honolulu with the rest of the team and I tried to get him to sign but the college kids were not allowed to get near too many folks.....they were out there for a tournament. I also ran into Dennis Eckersley in an airport once but couldn't catch up to him to ask.

I saw Dave Winfield at O'Haire last weekend on a layover to Hartford (I suppose going to his ESPN gig)......Unfortunately I didn't have anything to sign and we just made eye contact and nodded heads

I had 2 airport autograph encounters.

Dan Marino at Tampa International. My friends Uncle was Airport security and gave us the heads up. I had 2 2001 AS Baseballs, that was all I could come up with at the last minute, and when I approached him before he got into the limo he asked how I knew he would be there. I told him I always go to the airport with baseballs.

I met Steve Harvey when I was on my way home for leave after my 2nd deployment to Iraq. I was waiting for my now ex girlfriend to pick me up, and I saw him walkin with sunglasses on outside. He got into an SUV, and I went up to the Security and asked if I could talk to him. He said Steve don't feel like talking right now. I told him about myself some, and he led me to the window. Mr Harvey signed my airline ticket stub, and I was happy. I could tell he was on something, maybe a few muscle relaxers, alchohol (no), weed? He was not in a normal state at all. But he was a very cool guy to talk to.

Had a good time although it rained pretty good Friday. This is the 5th time i have gone during induction weekend. If you've never been, i recommend it, but for me it's kinda the same as far as signings go. The same guys each year which is great but never a few i would like to see, Koufax, Ryan, Brett and Aaron. They might show up for the ceremony but not for signings. Oh well, i did get Yount which leaves me just Ryan and Brett as far as living HOFer's. Henderson signed Monday for $199.

I actually left Sat. night and came to NYC for a Yankees game Sunday. Went to a Mets game tonight and head up to Boston in the morning for a Sox game. Then on to Cleveland for the National. Hoping to find that 82 Marty Bystrom in NM. image
