Saw Mays signing at the show in Chicago last weekend, he looked good. Was giving someone in line some real S$#t too, so he's still got spunk.

Kiss me once, shame on you.

I'm very biased, but I would say Stan Musial.

I am not sure why he gets little love, and is so underrated when it comes to these type of discusions, but check out his stats. He compares favorably to all the greats!

I would agree that it's the Say Hey Kid.

    Stan Musial
  • Jose Oquendo
  • How can you have this conversation without mentioning Gary Coleman who played with the Madison Mallards. On a serious note I'd have to go with Musial.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Hank Aaron yetimage

But in my mind anyway, Willie Mays is the greatest living baseball player. Aaron would be #2.

  • After interviewing almost 100 players from the 1950's including those who saw him breakout in Minneapolis in 1951 before coming to the Giants, it is Mays hands down.

The argument of the best defensive outfielder of his era was either him, Piersall or Snider. Mantle, Minoso and Clemente also receive honorable mention. Mays had a laser for an arm, stole bases with ease and his hitting prowess has been well documented. And he made it all look EASY.

While Musial was great, he wasn't the defensive player that Mays was.

My top 3 would be Mays, Aaron, and Rose. Willie #1 by a wide margin, Hank and Pete 2A and 2B.

Willie Mays is a really big jerk, and I mean that with all sincerity. However, he may be the best player still alive. It pains me to say it.

Hard to leave out Stan Musial and Hank Aaron.

I think Stan the Man is the best player living. When Mays, Musial and Aaron kick it- it will be wide open for debate.
