Restored Comics Are Graded, Why Not Restored Cards?

Some of you probably know that restored comics are regularly graded. Of course, a restored comic will not sell as high as a non-restored comic in the same grade. Regardless, however, the comic is still graded. I wonder if PSA has ever considered this. For example, you could have a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 5 (R).

I would think that any restoration to cards would have to be performed by a professionally skilled and acceptable medium, as collectors currently do for antiques and comic books.

From what I've read in the past, there's more to the restoration process of comic books than most would imagine.

I think they already do. They grade certain cards that have been restored as Authentic.

Cards that have been skinned, re backed, and recolored.

I think SGC will do it for certain 19 century cards.

SOME comics are so rare/scarce that there could
not be a market in them, if restored items were
    excluded.

Restored prices tend to stick over time, BUT you
must "buy them right" if you plan to hold them.

    ...........

The same crack and sell raw game that can be played with
some PSA "Authentic" cards can be played with some comics.

MOST folks here can tell if a card has been fixed. It is not so
easy with comics and books that are done by pros with 50-years
    of experience.
