I know Mcgwire has a B sheet card. I have only seen the Griffey with the G sheet.
Just wondering if Griffey has these front variations and now you got me wondering if he has a
    back variation.

from beckett This nine-card standard-size set was issued by Topps for hobby dealers to preview the 1994 Topps regular-issue series. The back of each card is identical to the player's regular issue 1994 Topps card back except for a diagonal white box across the statistics stating "PRE-PRODUCTION SAMPLE Design and Photo Selection Subject To Change." These cards were also issued in some of the 1993 Topps factory sets. The factory set versions are worth about the same as the hobby versions. There is both a horizontal and vertical version of Ryan.

I believe all the samples have horizontal and veritcal versions.

I have seen brett and bonds both horizontal and vertical.

the samples were stuck in 1993 factory sets -- 3 at a time .

Ill scan the Brett's if I can find both of them tonight

The items I have listed are all variation pairs from the 1994 Pre-Production set.

One version of each of the cards (listed in an above post) came from the 1993 factory sets. The second version, I believe, was a dealer-issued set, but again I am not sure - I do know that the factory-issued ones are easier to find. One set has a rounder, normal Topps logo on all the cards and the other set has a much sharper, angular Topps logo on the fronts - all backs are identical.

They are all listed in the SCD annual guide.

Nolan Ryan, Barry Bonds and George Brett all have vertical and horizontal versions (other differences as well).

The Jeff Tackett card is the only card I cannot find a difference for.

As for other 1994 Topps variations, most have been mentioned above:

743 Pat Watkins (missing copyright and corrected)
340 Mark McGwire (with and without a print sheet letter) **Other players may exist with this seemingly scarce variation**
109 Delino DeShields ( with name/position printed in RED or YELLOW )

Despite years of searching through countless boxes of this product, these are the only ones I can confirm at this time.

    Hope this helps!

    ***EDIT***

The Tackett comes in two different photo croppings, slight but noticeable side-by-side.
