The mascot in the 1887 N172 [or, as pictured, N173 cabinet] Old Judge issue looks pretty darn young:

    The kid/Pro/hobby mentality.....

"Jimmy, You need to write you name on the top of your papers." *** "teach, I dont sign nuttin' without gettin paid".

    "Jimmy, Where's your homework?" *** "It'll be here in 8-12 weeks, it's a redemption"

"Jimmy, you need to write legibly and stay in the lines" *** "No I dont teach, you ever seen some of those sticker autos?

Ok, I know these don't meet your definition or answer your question, but I never miss an opportunity to show off my two favorite autographed rookie cards.

Didn't Topps have some HS players on cards back in the early 90's? Perhaps one of those have the

    youngest player on a card.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • thenavarro- cool cards. I'll have to get my boys cards slabbed. Very nice.

    Some info on the OP.

Gray recently began taking orders for a U.S. Army All-American Bowl football product that includes autographs from the top 2008 high school seniors (including highly touted Tennessee signee Bryce Brown) and base cards of three kids in junior high – the progeny of NFL notables Ray Lewis, Ed McCaffrey and Ty Detmer.

Producing cards of high school football players is by no means a new concept; there have been Big 33 sets devoted to prep stars in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Ohio for years. It’s the thin-line introduction of the younger players – incoming ninth grader Ray A. Lewis III, and future eighth graders Christian McCaffrey and Koy Detmer – that might ruffle some feathers.

“All three are sons of famous [NFL] players,” Gray says. “If we luck out and hit a future big prospect it would be a huge card. At the very least, it’s fun.”

The kids played in the 2009 Football University All-American Bowl, a series of games highlighting seventh and eighth graders held in conjunction with the annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Gray says that rights to all three players were included in his license with the U.S. Army and SportsLink, the marketing firm that produces the annual All-American Bowl.

  • the old judge card has a "little person" shown, not a kid...

many teams had "little people/dwarfs" as their mascots back then....

1973 Topps Baseball had some Boyhood Photos of the Stars Cards although I don't think anyone was as young as the Ryan card.

Youngest player was Joe Nuxhall 15 years old playing for the Cincinnati Reds, but that was WWII and no cards were made of him for a few years after, so .....

Youngest person on a card (non player) there are many cards that show batboys and mascots N172, N173 have a few...

    My favorites are...
E121 picturing Hall of Famer Billy Southworth with batboy

and the R314A Ethan Allen with batboy

The Quebec International Pee Wee tournament issued sets in the early 1990s and there are cards of current NHLers including Marian Hossa. Most players are in the 12-14 year old range.
