I have built sets raw since 2001, this includes all the base cards, all the SP's and the three inserts sets and any additional sets that come such as the Mantle HR set they had a few years back. I had one card, a 2001 Ripken SP that was graded to BGS, I traded it to a big Ripken fan on the boards. The cards are actually pretty condition sensitive, but since they aren't worth a whole lot by themselves, it would make little sense to submit them. Now autographs... that could be fun!

Hey, that was me!
This card actually crossed-over to a PSA 8 (now in my Set Registry), probably due to the slight centering issue. I'm still very satisfied with the trade, as I hope you still are. Talk about a tough card to get in high-grade!

I can't believe that the BGS only got a PSA 8. It was graded back when BGS was tough of cards and the card was in very nice condition and we all know that is rare for a heritage card..oh well.
Unfortunately I cracked it out instead of sending it in for review. I swear it had to be the centering. I requested NQ, so it might have came back a 9OC. Like I said before, I'm still very happy with it, and it rests comfortably in my Registry until I find an upgrade.
I'm with Kevin - not much reason to have them graded - they display nicely in binders - that's my take - and I've been doing the sets - like Kevin since 2001.
Unfortunately, I didn't do a set this year.
I agree Kevin - the autos might be worth having graded.
