I tried to post on the lookalikes thread and my pics came out as two boxes with red x's in the middle. ANybody know why?

  • I'm not familar with tinypic (I use photobucket)

Maybe the wrong tag line or code was copied/pasted?

Did you try it again? Try it one more time and post it here so they might be able to see what happened. What picture did you pick? Something in your computer? I'm trying to figure out what went wrong.

I found tinypic to be easier to use and been using it ever since, never had a problem with it, and I don't think pictures disapear after a while like they do with photobucket.

Wait a minute, I think this might be the problem! You gotta pick the link where it says "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" and make sure the entire code is being copied.

So pics in fb do disappear?

I believe it. About 3x now, I've went to look for a pic that was a 'keeper' but found it gone. I kinda thought I had some Jekyll/Hyde problem that hated cards and erased 'em while I slept.

  • Yeah, i've seen it a million times myself. Did you ever try to search for an old thread, or better yet, does threads that everybody adds personal photos and threads like that to find lots of pictures have disapeared? Every time I see a photo that went poof, its usualy or should I say always photos that were uploaded using Photobucket. I have never had a photo disapear on me when I used Tinypic.com they always stay. I have used this site for many years now on other forums and it works great!

Try doing a search of old threads and you will see lots of pictures that can no longer be viewed and i'm pretty sure its going to say photobucket on them.
  • This is the thread I had in mind link

Right there on the first page and first post shows some photos from photobucket gone. I'm sure there are pleanty more, but it would take a year to go thru the whole thread, haha.

I know I delete many pics from my bucket after a few days that I post on a thread that are "temporary" pics. They then disappear on the thread.

Also if you move the pic into a new folder, it will disapper if you dont add the new link to the thread. I assume that happens alot. Someone snags a pic, posts it and later puts it in a appropriate folder.

I think that's more of people deleting or moving the location their own pictures, not photobucket doing it

Oh yeah of course, thats exactly what it is, but the botton line is that they get deleated. Mayne people delete or move their pics, not thinking for a second about what threads they listed it in and then they go poof. With Tinypic.com that dosen't happen, i've seen pictures stay on for years even after I delete them from my computer, they always stay!
