eBay & Paypal Auction Cancel Question - PLEASE HELP!

I had to cancel a Southwest Airplanes flight recently and instead of a refund received a credit for the original purchase amount for later airfare. I listed this credit on eBay last night and received an email mid-day today saying it was canceled as it was prohibited to sell Southwest credits on eBay. Upon checking my paypal a few minutes ago, I noticed I received a payment of $400 for these very tickets....I quickly checked eBay and the listing was shown as sold for my best offer price of $400. When I click on the auction link it shows that the auction has been removed but the sales line still shows on my "sold" items list. The paypal payment shows as completed. Is eBay going to cancel the paypal payment soon as well? Or.....is it safe to give the buyer the code for the credit? What should I do? Thanks for any help as this is quite concerning...

    jeepers..........

NEVER give a code to an unknown person, who has paid thru PayPal.
You will have no proof of delivery and the SCAMSTER will get his money
    back AND the air-credits.

Try to do an ACH transfer of the money out of PayPal, or use your debit
card at an ATM to grab the money out of PayPal.

Contact the buyer immediately and arrange for USPS Priority Mail delivery.
Use Signature Confirmation on the packgae.

If you do an ACH transfer to get your cash, wait until the cash shows
cleared in your checking account, BEFORE you ship the package.

There is a 50/50 chance that your buyer is a SCAMMER; so be cautious.

There is another guy that made an offer on eBay who had 100% feedback of over a thousand last night. He messaged me on eBay after making the offer saying "most of these that I bid on get removed.....if it is removed, I'm still willing to buy it" and then gave me his email. He is willing to buy it for $385 right now....since I know who he is and that his feedback shows him very reliable, should I sell to him and refund the other bidder? I don't care if it is $15 less if it will save me the headache of being scammed. I could send the money back to the one person citing the fact that eBay cancelled the auction...

Also, say I do sell it to the guy who already bought and paid for the item. WILL eBay take back the paypal payment? I can priority mail the guy the package with signature confirmation tomorrow but I really need to know that eBay won't take back that payment due to a cancelled listing.

By the way storm, thanks for the reply I always enjoy your thorough responses.

You can refund the payment in Paypal since the auction was cancelled.

    Yup.

I think I would do that, and then send the second guy a Request For Payment
    through PayPal.

Once you refund the first guy, EBAY is out of it and the refunded-guy cannot
leave feedback on a cancelled item.

The second guy will have no SNAD coverage from PayPal, so he is safer
to deal with. You still have to prove delivery - SigCon.

    ....................

    ..............................

NEVER give ANY codes out to ANY stranger on EBAY.

ALWAYS mail the code with DC or SC.

Thanks a lot Storm - I appreciate the help.

Is there any way to recoup the paypal fee that was originally taken from the $400? I only got like $380'ish from the sale. So if I send him $400 I will lose the fifteen or so dollars...is that correct? I've sold close to a thousand items and have never had to refund a payment, so I apologize for any ignorance. Thanks again for the help.

No I think PP will give that back to you.

Refunds also get the fees back.
