Ebay Bucks Beta -- ? Who signed up ?

Recently, ebay sent me a message in my ebay message box.

It was to sign up for Ebay bucks beta, earning 2% on purchases paid with paypal every 3 months.

Just wondering if everyone here got the same email?

I signed today and figured since we are all frequents that that would select everyone here.

what do you think ?

I got the same email quite a while back. I went ahead and participated and have already gotten my first round of rebates and even used them already. Every time you buy an item and proceed through checkout, it tells you exactly how much you'll earn in Ebay bucks. Once the earning period is over, and the bucks are credited to your account, they automatically apply it during checkout of your next purchase as a discount.

    Ditto with Rodney's statements.

I got in the earlier Beta round too and already used my $92.33 in last quarter earnings! Used it on a 2001 Bowman Albert Pujols PSA 10... cost me only about $200 after the Bucks discount!!!

Anybody here use Bing Cashback too? You're allowed 20 eBay purchases per calendar year and the payout varies by day (although, I'd say most days it's 8%, but I did get lucky once and caught a 10% day). The guy that told me about talked about being lucky and catching 15% and 20% in the past... but I haven't seen one yet in the 2-3 months since I signed up.

Qualifying purchases are any auction you win using Buy It Now and pay with Paypal... and Microsoft pays your Paypal account back the daily percentage for that transaction immediately after you make payment. You have to enroll in the instant refund option too, and usually your first purchase you have to wait 60 days, but typically every transaction after the first one gets paid instantly (at least it has for me so far, I think I've used 7 or 8 of my allowed 20 already).

Oh yeah... you get to double dip with eBay Bucks and Bing too!

I typically only use Bing on cards in excess of $500... but with a typical combined 10% back... that $500 Buy It Now card just really cost me $450 (for example)!!!

Gumby, why not? It's not like you have been organizing thousands of cards for some group sub or something?

I signed up too. It's the first time I have been offered it. It appears to me that it was offered to all ebay usernames.

A unexpected bonus from work was the reason for the out of the norm large purchases for me. Combined with the Live disc., I was happy with the prices.

I think this quarter I'll get $5. lol

  • I have been using both Ebay Bucks and Kick it back (on all auctions) and getting rebates for both... The way I got the ebay bucks is when I set up a second ebay account, the one I have had since the '90s still haven't gotten the link to ebay Bucks.

Here is a link to kick it back for those who want to double up... A little more work, but all you need to do is once you sign up, goto kickitback.com, and then click the ebay link, and that starts to register those auctions as valid kickitback offers...

(Note I have tried it that if you put a bid on the auction, and then snipe later, you get the credit on Kickitback as the reward)

If you use this link, I get a "referral" bonus as well!!

I've been using Big Crumbs when I buy things on ebay. You earn 36% of the seller's fees when you buy from ebay. It's also good for a ton of other websites (Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Old Navy). So far I've spent $1016.32 since the end of March, and I've earned $35.67 (3.51%). Sure it's not a lot, but it's something! Must be why they call it "Big Crumbs". They also use the "referral" system, where you can earn a small percentage of your referral's earnings also. Pretty fun, and easy to use.

I'll have to check out this ebay bucks thing too... why not? image
  • Doh. Signed up for big crumbs along time ago, forgot about it and never used it.

Jeff, how does big crumbs work with a sniping service that i use for auctions? Don't you have to click through Big Crumbs first?

I signed up when they first started and have built 2 vintage sets among other things and managed to get almost $200 for my first coupon.

I was invited earlier in the year and earned around $10 this past quarter. Between the Ebay Bucks, Big Crumbs and the Bing rebate, I just got a Jordan signed 16x20 and saved almost $60 off the BIN price.

And for those of you not using Big Crumbs, you really should. If your gonna spend money on Ebay, why not get a little of that back? One person asked if it works with a sniping service...it does....sort of. If I plan on sniping an item, I place a small starting bid after going through Big Crumbs. Then I place my snipe and if I win, the first bid I placed counts as the bid through.

Edited to add: Big Crumbs works with other sites too, I have personally used it at Best Buy and Stub Hub among other places. A buck saved is a buck spent on cards! image
