2009 FY DDR #31 Unbelievable

Anyone care to seriously take a crack at explaining why there are 31, so far, DDRs on these P cents?

Does Philadelphia have a problem with their die making equipment, that Denver doesn't?

Or is it, as Billy Crawford told me, lack of Quality Control?

If it's QC, as Billy said, then Philadelphia has NONE. One or two doubled dies maybe, but 31? And how knows where it will end.

Honestly, I can't wait for the design change 8/13.

    True, but there still is that human factor. Remember, they're using four different dies this year instead of the usual one.

    Employee drug testing back then wasn't as refined as it is now.

    Strange that 2006 and 2009 have so many varieties in the P mint cents then 2007 and 2008 had few.

    The real situation is that these are being examined for very minute difference's as a lot of folks like the idea of getting their names attached to being the first to report a "New" DDR coin. I'm just as guilty as the next fellow! It is, after all, fairly exciting!

    Having said that, I need to add that there are many, many coins out there that have numerous versions of a DDO or DDR variety. The IKE dollars are loaded with them as well as the billion or so Kennedy Ha;f Dollars! Then we have Minnesota Extra Tree quarters, the Ocean in View Nickels and lets not even start on all the DDO Morgan VAMs that exist!

    Eventually, these will burn out with only the rarest remaining at reasonable prices and then we'll be off onto some other Coin Variety Adventure!

    Some waves are bigger than others but they all eventually break on shore only to be replaced by another.
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.



    The name is LEE!
