Is it ok to hate my friend?

He works for the a Big Ten school videotaping the football team (practices, games, etc) and other things as needed. The next three weeks, he "has" to watch the likes of Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, and Greg Jennings (among others) work out on campus, including taping their workouts. Meanwhile I am stuck at a computer in cube with no view of the outside world. I did ask him to see if he could sneak me in for a workout - fingers crossed.

Your friend is indeed lucky, i was able to do the same when i was in school (working in the videography dept.) It also happened to be a year when we won the Nat'l Championship. It was very cool indeed! So, "don't hate the player, hate the game."

There is a gentleman on the boards who is a videographer...he's gotten to meet some entertaining/accomplished folks that way himself. Sounds like a nice time.

Be happy for him. One of my friends is a videographer for an NFL team, he absolutely loves it and he's actually had some of his friends (me) work on the field helping him. It's a blast, but you really don't ever get to see a game.

What you want to do is have him train you for sideline work, and then offer your services to a visiting team for a game. Some schools don't always bring all of their support staff, and maybe you could help them out. It's always volunteer work, but they usually cover your ticket and a ticket for a friend.

Videography is indeed interesting work. i worked in TV news for a few years and met loads of athletes, musicians, superstars and presidents. but at 18K/yr, it really isn't worth the pressures and struggles........ Video pays crap, yr office job probably pays lots more so you get the last laugh!

    I don't think I'd be a hatter Pete.

But, if ya want to be chartreuse with envy?

    That's ok - I would be...
