Happy Birthday! A birthday with nothing is typically better than not getting to the birthday though. Hope you have a great one in your new house.

Well July 15th will be the first birthday in 4 years where I wont be deployed or in the field training. And now I dont have a girlfriend, have to go to school that night 6pm - 10pm, and most my buddies are bums, so I dont think i'll be getting anything....but oh well, thats life.

Happy Birthday. No reason to get bummed, cards will be there when your finances allow for them.
  • Happy Birhtday! The older you get the more often that happens, but only because you buy yourself presents all year long. Actually I'd say first b-day not deployed and a new house is a pretty good birthday combo. I'd also say csmtampa, 4 years deployed and home safe for your birthday is also a pretty good b-day. Thank you both for your service!

    Happy Bday Bill!

I have a contest going on right now - no biggie but if you don't mind - you are an extra auto winner!

Pick either the factory set or the 100 card Shaq include 1992 Draft pick set and I'll get it out to ya.

I don't celebrate them anymore - too many have gone and passed to count!

I buy something for myself for Christmas and my birthday. No biggie, just another day.

I was bummed out when the Lindsay Lohan fart jar I bought a few years ago on ebay never materialized. If I had received it Bill, I'd send you that very fart to liven up your birthday and christen the new place.

For my 50th birthday several years back, I bought myself a nickel wax pack of 1955 Bowman baseball on eBay. I held it for several weeks or months until my actual birthda, then opened it. It had been repackaged with junk cards including cards in the middle with wax or gum stains, etc. I wrote it up in my column in SCD. Coincidentally, one of the photos from that column appears in this week's (July 17) SCD on Page 12.

I wanted to headline the column "Boned on my birthday," but T.S. changed it to a more tasteful, "Bummed on his birthday".

I still have the wrapper, gum and cards someplace.

My best wishes for you on a happy bday and a great year ahead. You are truly blessed to own a house and have a family.

I usually never get bummed on my birthdays but I did last year when I turned 40 in August. I promised my wife early last year she could throw a big 40th party for me and invite all of my friends and work buddies. Well it didn't happen... between getting hurt, and a couple of strikes during that year and before in which I was out of work, I had to tell my wife there was no way to have a big party. I ended up selling my only Sandy Koufax baseball a couple days before my bday to pay some more bills and ended up giving my wife a little money to have a little celebration for me. I was more sad that I couldn't take care of my family than selling my autos. So hopefully my 41st will be better!
