Happy Fathers Day...

I just wanted to wish all you Fathers out there a Happy Fathers Day, you are the biggest influence in your child’s life and this is your day for all the sacrifices you make every day for your children.

Many of you have asked why I left for awhile, and for those that care can read on, for those that don't can stop reading and enjoy your day.

I gave out of pure kindness and asked nothing in return for my gifts to board members here. It is my choice to whom I give stuff to.

Soon after giving all those cellos out I found several people were actually working, that upset me a bit but I shrugged it off. Soon after that I had several board members ask me to put sets together for them
after which I spent all that time doing and getting cards graded they backed out of the transactions, stating every excuse under the sun, only to see them purchase other items ( which is their prerogative) which annoyed me after
I spent hours upon hours putting this stuff together. While many might say " You can sell it to someone else" that’s is not the point, I worked based on what I was told someone wanted, only to have them say " I don't have the money right now" Yet 2 weeks later they are buying and posting cards that were more expensive than the set I was selling them. In my mind that was wrong.

The last straw was when I returned from a trip and checked my messages, I had 37 messages in my inbox asking me for free stuff, not even an offer to pay for shipping, my inbox was like the "Beggars Banquet", If I wanted that I would go buy the Rolling Stones album and listen to it. That made me feel like my generosity was being taken advantage of. I just need to get away.

While not EVERYONE did this, enough did to turn me off these boards for awhile. Mike (vito) was nice enough to contact me off these boards and is a real nice guy..(thanks for the kind words mike).. I have been around reading ( the mini purchases and rips, nicks ever going desire to figure out psa's crossover service or lack there of, and great purchases from many of you).

And yes I still have found tons of unopened to buy recently (73, 74, 75, 76 wax pack boxes ( a few of each), 75 cello boxes, 84 Rack case of football, and some other unopened thingies... but I didn’t buy any of the mini cases, ( Not really into those cards).

I see many new faces here and welcome you to the boards, this place really is a great place to come and learn, because nobody knows everything about every card or variation, (except Stone when it comes to eBay and paypal , I say that with sincerity and praise) however, together we as a collection can pretty much steer you clear of a bad transaction, and lead you to a good one as well as inform you where to find many cards for your collections.

Anyway, have a good day...

Regards,

Felicia

Thanks for the Father's Day wish.

I don't like when you're a stranger. How about you stay put, and some other board members get away for a (long) while? image

    Felicia,

It's so good to see you back. Thanks for the Father's Day Greeting! Please don't let some of the "bad" people drive you away from these boards. You are a GREAT contributor to these Boards and I hope you stay active.

Back when I opened the cello you gave me and found a BENCH inside, I told you that I was going to get it graded (It came back a "9" ... thought it had a shot at a "10".) and when it came back I would put it up for sale, with half the proceeds going to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and half to the charity of your choice. You mentioned a charity to me but never gave me the address. Would you please PM me with the name and address of that charity? In addition, since the pack was yours, kindly give me your suggestion as to how you would like me to sell it. Should I offer it to the board members first at a set price? A BIN on eBay? A regular auction on eBay?

Please PM me with the above info when you get the chance.

    GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK!

    Doug

I think you meant to say Storm.

And I find it sickening that anyone would ask you for anything.

Sorry you had to go through all that.

Welcome back! So nice to see you again Felicia. I'm so sorry you had so much trouble with transactions gone wrong. I can't speak for anyone, but I have to assume the extremely generous gift you sent my way was the impetus for a lot of it. If that's the case then it's a real shame. That said, I still treasure that card and show it off often.

Please don't be a stranger. I guess I can relate a bit of good news knowing you're reading...no, I'm still not working, but I did manage to get married on Thursday. I don't have pictures back yet, but here's one taken with a cell phone.

    image

Believe me, it wasn't my idea to get married during a long period of being unemployed but my (lovely) new wife wouldn't let me call it off so we'll be paying it off for awhile. image

    Happy to see you back!!!

I live less than 30 minutes from THE BETHPAGE BLACK and last Saturday part of my run was on the road next to the course. Wow, it was in AMAZING SHAPE! Too bad we had all that rain! (Hey, that amateur from Canada is playing some golf thru the first two rounds!)

Got your PM Felicia ... thanks.

    Felicia,

After reading your post, I now understand why you took a break, I would have done the same thing too. But please keep in mind that there are more good people on here than bad, it just seems that the bad
get more attention than the good. I hope you are back for good and will find a way to ignore all the schmucks that bother or try to take advantage of you.

Thank you for the Fathers Day wishes, I must admit there is no greater joy in my life than my daughter. She makes me proud and I hope that somehow I make her proud too.

And to all the other Dad's on the board, Happy Fathers Day to you all. I hope you all have the perfect Fathers Day.

And even though you are Dad's yourself, don't forget to call YOUR Dad and wish him a Happy Fathers Day.

    Looking for Carl Willey items.

    Felicia,

Thank you very much for the Happy Father's day wishes and I'm very glad you are doing well. I have to say it greatly saddens me when I read that members here had either lied or abused your great kindness. As a person who was out of work and lost almost everything over the last couple of years, I feel greatly insulted that members either lied or exaggerated they were out of work. It's also sad that many members wasted your time when they backed out of deals, but that's bound to happen anywhere. I don't wish them anything bad, they just have to live with the fact that there were other members out of work that missed out on your offers because they lied.

Again, I sincerely thank you for the 2 Dodgers cards you sent me earlier this year very much and look forward to seeing some of your recent purchases, poppage, and future rips.

    Sincerely,
    Brian

  • Thanks for the Fathers Day wish . I have sole custody my 2 children and they both made me gifts in school . So its been cool so far today. I do agree
that its kinda disrespectful to expect free stuff because you decided to be generous and give us unemployed at the time packs . I for you was very
    grateful for the pack.

I hope you decide to stay and show us all some more of those super rips of yours.

Thanks for the fathers day wishes. My 2 kids are grown and have now made me a grandfather at 46 years of age! I have been blessed with great kids and unbelieveable grandkids.

I just wanted to also remember my dad who is no longer with us. He has been gone 5 years now and I miss him every single day!!Pardon me for throwing this in here but I just wanted to acknowledge him in some way.

Happy fathers day to my dad, John (on the right) who is pictured with my uncle.

I'm glad to see you around Felicia and I'm sorry things worked out the way they did.

I'm not officially working again yet, but I did go back to school to get my teaching certification and will be a high school science teacher in the fall. I'm more than ready for summer vacation to pass.

As for the '75 rip, that was one of the coolest hobby experiences I've ever had, and, while it sounds like it got out of hand, I, and the majority of us, appreciate everything you've done for the board.

Thank you again for it all and please come around more often,

    Felicia,

I missed your posts and was wondering if you ever cracked the entire '74 & '76 cases. I loved seeing the scans of the cards you opened. Please let us know what you did with the rest of those cases, and please post some more pictures.

  • Cases are intact...Have not opened anymore vending since my last rips here

Great to see you back, Felicia! I really enjoyed watching those vending breaks! Sad to hear that some here are looking for a free ride, but ironically generosity often brings out greed in others.

thanks for the Fathers Day wishes. It absolutely appalls me that someone would ask for a handout or deceive people that generously give on here. It is just like stealing in my opinion.
  • Felicia, glad to see that you are well and made it back to the board! There are some people on here with a high level of douchness that can really turn me off too. Again, glad you are back and doing well.

Vito, congratulations on the marriage! Your wife's dress is very sparkley (like a holiday). Name that movie. image

Got to say that that certainly takes a set to do that. Also shows the character (or lack of) of the individuals that would do that.
