My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

This will be my 4th Father's day, and every year I tell my wife to just get me a card, because in reality, whatever she gets me is really me buying it for me.
That gift is off the hook... unreal.
This year my son told me (he is 4 and a half) that he wants to take me to the Blue Jays game. He also said that mommy gave him her money. So he and I are making our first solo trip next Sunday to see The Jays host the Phillies. It's the best gift I have ever had and what I hope is the start of a long tradition.
