Ebay issues

Anyone else having search issues with Ebay's new layout? I go into the German coin section to search for "50", as in 50 pfennigs, and it takes me to some record that is for sale. I am also having issues when searching for dates. Seems that it doesn't like numbers, at least for me.

  • It seems glitchy to me, and slower to load. I don't like the way it sometimes seems to combine store sales with auctions.

It still works (I guess), but I have to learn the new system.

Problem I have with using Pfennig is that it misses those folks that misspell stuff... Used to be I could just go into the German section and put in 1, 5, 10, 50, or whatever number I wanted, as far as denomination, and get a lot more results. My main thing was just making sure it wasn't a bad cookie on my comp or a "faulty" operator image

eBay and issues go together like cops and robbers.

    Use wildcards.

Ex.: 50 pf* would catch 50 pfennig, 50 pfennige, 50 pfennigs, 50 pfen.

It's not a perfect solution, but it will catch plurals and the majority of misspellings.

When I'm searching for fractionals, I do the following in the British section:

    quart* farth*
    1/4 farth*

    hal* farth*
    1/2 farth*

    thir* farth*
    1/3 farth*

Wouldn't just "farth*" accomplish the same result, or would there just be too many full farthings?

Exactly. I'm not interested in full farthings. As it is, 1/4 farth* pulls up some full farthing listings anyway...
