Anyone ever meet a board member at a show?

I went to a local show two weeks ago and I meant to see if any board members were going. I am 50/50 on going to the National this year, does anyone here get something together to all meet and put faces to the names? If not why dont we try something like that this year?

I think PSA has a luncheon at the National.

Also their have been times when guys would meet up there, catch a ballgame and dinner.

The first time I met Morgoth was when we agreed to car-pool to a Sun Times Show in Chicago.
We've attended a few shows since, and setup at several shows as well. You might be surprised
how close a board member is if you ask! I believe that a large majority of our board members are
genuinely nice... no matter what their on-line persona may be at times. image

I always wear a Sabo jersey at larger shows... kinda helps people have an idea who I might be.
I've had a couple folks approach me and ask if I was... well, me.

For anyone heading to Nationals... see ya there! Don't be afraid to tap me on the shoulder and say "Hey, you're that 'Talon' guy aren't you?"

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

Except most teenager's will grow up into productive members of society. I think this guy is just a tool for life.

I haven't been to a show since around '94. Hopfully by next year I'll have more spare time to travel.

I remember the time someone got banned for mentioning someones wife.

I'd expect you to retract that statement Burrito. His wife should not have anything

to do with your problem with him.

That was supposed to be our little secret. We were simply discussing New Kids on the Block wax packs.

Not knowingly anyway. Had a good talk with Steve Hart in Rosemont. Last time the National was in Cleveland the boy and I brought the camcorder. Wonder how many members I might have recorded.

What we did was kinda funny. One of the promotions in the VIP package was what looked like a $100 bill but was really just a folded over piece of paper with an add on back, but at first look you would think it was a real bill. Well we dropped them in random places and filmed people picking them up. We were laughing so hard with all the different reactions. Good times.

I once met up with samspop at a show in Charlotte. Much to my surprise, it turned out he actually IS Mark McGwire... but it explained a lot, really.
