usps flat rate boxes

are they added into the flat shipping rate and which box would a topps sealed set (ie 1993 topps set) fit in?

I believe this is the only box that will have the length to fit a set. You'd have to measure to be sure. This is the longest I believe in the flat rate category. It's around $13 to ship with it if I remember correctly. Though this may work as well...I don't know if there is a price difference...link

I order all of my flat rate boxes online and USPS delivers them. It's great.

You can get an 800 count box in a regular flat rate box ($9.85). I've done it many times. The lid doesn't close but if you improvise you'll be all set.

A regular priorty mail 'shoe box' might work too and depending on where you are sending it
the cost could be less then the flat rate.

Either way it is going to cost 10.00 + to ship.

Not sure if they still make them though, the PO has changed so much the past year or 2.

I have an assortment of boxes from the past I try to use.

when i measured the boxes the 1991 and 92 topps complete sets were 14 inches long so im trying to find a box that would fit them.

I see nothing with a long measure of 14".

There was once a Flat Rate box of 14"x12"x3.5", but I haven't seen it in a long time.

BUT...

I just wieghed a 1992 Topps Factory set...~55 ounces...$9.78 shipped Priority if postage is purchased online...$10.80 at the PO...either way...cheaper than a medium or large flat rate box.

so I would probably buy a box from a store and just put it in there instead of a flat rate box?

Before you purchase a box, you can probably get a suitable Priority Box (the non-flat rate kind) for free and ship it...consider:

Shoebox

Unless you are going to a main branch, some smaller PO will not have these in stock. If you've got the time, you can request 1 or more and it (they) will be delivered to your home within 7 business days.
