The official "You've Got to be Kidding Me!" Thread. Thanks Mike92694!!
Okay guys, I don't want to heap on my personal problems to you, but if you allow me this I'd appreciate it. It has a good ending.
I haven't been feeling well lately. Came down with a cold last weekend (who gets sick in the summer?), and by the middle of the week, began to notice some ringing in my ear. I had never had an ear infection, but just assumed I had a sinus problem. As it got worse, I decided a trip to the doctor would be a good idea. He seemed a little concerned, but hoped a couple of prescriptions would clear things up.
Well, thee days later and taking my meds, it's only gotten worse. I've now lost all hearing in one ear and the other is starting to get worse now too.
So obviously I haven't been feeling great. The ringing and pressure and hearing loss has made me dizzy, sick to my stomach, and now quite frankly, a little scared. I haven't had the best week.
Fast forward to the contest Mike had last week where he was giving away a couple of 1975 minis. I don't know how or why, but I won. Was looking forward to the cards, but honestly wasn't expecting much, a couple commons that didn't get the grade he wanted.
I went to the PO today and the cards had arrived. This is what they looked like when I opened the package.

I thought this was an extremely cool card. I didn't have a card with a Mantle on it. It was much more than I expected. Very neat!!
Then, it was on to the second card:

You've got to be kidding me?!?!?!? I literally about fell over!! What an extremely generous gift, one I truly will cherish.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, but I think it looks great as the centerpiece of my collection:

Mike, I can't thank you enough for the gift, especially one so generous and undeserving. I've tried to give as much as I've received to my fellow collectors on this board, but this one I cannot top. Thanks for giving me a great moment in a bad week. I hope to return the favor to you someday.
We've said it before, but there are some truly great guys on these boards!!
Stay healthy gang,

That's gotta be the best Get Well card of all time. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Excellent prizes!
Doug
Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
The bad news is another day gone by, still no hearing.
The good news is I think I'm still excited about the two cards.
Thanks again Mike!!

Mike, Very generous prize. I have been blessed with some great friends
in this hobby that have sent me cards when I was at my lowest point.
No better way to forget about life for awhile than searching through boxes
of football cards or a card needed to complete a set.
Many times I've wanted to quit because of all the bad stuff that goes on,
but the good here outways the bad. Joe
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
<< <i>Thanks for the well wishes guys.
