New to the forums. Thought I'd share my southpaw project!

Hello,

After being a long time reader, I thought I'd finally join this great forum. For the past 7 years, I've been slowly building a collection of photographs and/or autographs of southpaw 100 game winners. To date, there have been 151 lefties to reach this plateau...and I'm currently sitting at 125. Needless to say, most of the remaining 26 on my wantlist will never be attained (thank you Rube Waddell and Eddie Plank), but I'll keep my eyes peeled!

Anyway, here's a link to my collection. I'm also working on custom 8x10 bios for the back of the photos, because let's face it; blank backs are boring! Here's a sample:

Thanks for looking!

Your Dave McNally signature is bogus (sorry........). You may want to have JSA or PSA/DNA confirm this for you...Welcome to the board nonetheless!

  • Thanks for the input on McNally (truth be told, I've had a nagging suspicion since I picked it up several years ago when I was just starting out). Actually, there are a couple of others I question as well, including Santana and Valenzuela. However, they are easy enough to replace should I ever confirm their unauthenticity. I'm very pleased with the project in general, though. It's really been a labor of love.

A collector of all things Braves
Always looking for Chipper Jones cards.
Im a very focused collector of cards from 1909 - 2012...LOL
  • The past couple of weeks have been good for this project as I just picked up 15 more lefties! No real big names, but it gets me that much closer toward completion. More importantly though, I picked up a genuine McNally! After close review, I think only Johan Santana may need to be replaced at this point.

Ted Lilly and Randy Wolf will be the next to join the club, bringing the total membership to 154.

    Thanks for stopping by!

I was looking at all of the information you provide very impressive! I have a question on Cooper. He only had his right arm (In the picture) How is he a lefty?

  • Haha! Clever work with Photoshop, there! Now that I look at it closer, it sure looks like Cooper is doing a fine Pete Gray impression.image
