Lot 20300, the 1778 8 Reales Bolivia NGC 63 (Andy Lustig told me it's high end for the grade) and lot 20321, the 1841 8 Scudos Bolivia NGC 61 (which was cracked out of it's Eliasberg holder ((almost wiping out it's provenance)) ), which I am hoping to get repedigreed.
I've been looking over my Wayte Raymond "The Silver Dollars of North and South America" and think I'd like to build a collection based on the book. Soooo, I pulled the trigger on what I thought was good looking, but fairly circulated Argentina 8 Reales from 1815.
At first, I thought I was seeing a repaired hole on the obverse top, but I don't see the corresponding area on the reverse. Can the more experienced folks tell me what I did right or did wrong with my first step into the Southern Hemisphere?
