Opinion on this Mariano Rivera autograp!h

I wanted to buy an affordable (non-Steiner) Mariano Rivera autograph as one of the gifts for my groomsmen to go along with Yankee tickets - this one looks like it was probably obtained in person (by seeing the other cards this seller has for auction). Does this look real? I'll ignore the authentication provided with this.

NO NO NO! I dont know graded cards much, but baseball autographs is my specialty. That seller has been brought up on another message board/site......and after looking at alot of his current autographs............STAY AWAY! Save your money! I can get you connected with someone who has an authentic Rivera auto. Do not waste your money on that junk

sorry, but as easy an autograph as Rivera is (he's very good TTM for a star of his level), this doesn't look right. While it resembles Mariano's signature and might slip through authentication, I do not like the tilt, the flow, and the overall appearance of the signature enough to even pay postage on it...

There are plenty of them out there or if you want to take a shot, send one TTM just before the Yankees arrive home to play at Yankee Stadium. If you're going to have a success, you'll have it quickly. When Rivera signs, it's usually less than a week.

    Good luck.

I agree with the last two posters...it's doesn't quite look right mostly the slant is wrong.

MR is wonderful in person and I've even heard of some TTM successes. There must be a reasonably priced non-Steiner sig out there somewhere.

I have to agree with the last three posters. I just looked through a few of the seller's other auctions, and that Rivera isn't the only fake autograph he currently has on ebay.

    STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!!!!!!!!

    csmtampa,

You are right on the money about that auto and seller!

Here's one of his monstrosities of Peyton Manning!

Looks like Peyton forgot how to spell his first name image

  • Thanks guys.

    CSMTampa - PM sent.

I had already placed a bid, so I decided to ask the seller for more information about the card - I guess I could retract otherwise.

I went through some of this other autographs - the Steelers (which I've gotten quite a few in person) look fairly authentic, but that Manning looks horrible.
