1984 Football Wax Pack Rip

Not a valuable pack, but I decided that before I go to my Memorial Day BBQ and have a few beers, let me rip open an '84 Football Wax. Here we go:

All cut open and ready to take a stab at the Marino or Elway card.

OH well ... nothing much. Here are the "decent" cards. BTW ... when did they start using the wrapped gum? I have opened up a few other '84 FB Wax Packs and they had the "Regular unwrapped gum" inside.

    Steve Wilson
    Willie Tullis
    Interception Leaders
    Zachary Dixon
Todd Christensen IR - Wax Card
    John Turner

    Maybe try another one tomorrow.

Doug - I ripped an older labeled GAI '84 Topps Football pack a little over a month ago and it also had the wrapped gum in it.

Ive never seen a wrapped bazooka gum like that in an 84 wax pack, its always been the pink gum. I used to buy them as a kid, and Ive ripped several hundred as an adult.

Did you get that pack off ebay and from who? Very interesting

I've probably had that pack for at least a few years, so I do not remember from whom it was purchased. The labels all say "from a sealed case" and others had the pink gum and this one had it wrapped. I'll probably open another from the same purchase in the next day or so ... we'll see what type of gum is in that pack.

It's dated 1984 Mike ...I don't suspect the pack is bad, I was just curious if they used this wrapped gum frequently back then.
