Memorial Day Remembrance

Well since its "officially" Memorial Day where I am (on vacation) I'd like to take this time to remember a few buddies who gave their lives for the ultimate sacrifice.

I found this old gun carrier the US Army worked into the ground building roads in the late 30s. I liked it so much I have it near the end of my driveway tucked away in the trees. I consider it my own little memorial, and it reminds me of the great Men and Women that have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

My sister and I spent a good portion of the morning yesterday at the cemetary visiting and cleaning our parent's graves. It was very moving to see all the flags that were placed at the gravesites (including my Dad's) and there were tons of visitors. Thanks to all veterans

Went to Gettysburg, Philadelphia, and Somerset PA this weekend to celebrate Memorial Day. Everything was great to see, but nothing was more touching than seeing the Flight 93 "temporary Memorial" in Somerset. If you find yourself driving past that area, take an hour and go there. The official Memorial will begin to be built this October, and is scheduled to be complete by the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.

    Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!
