Did anyone hear that the rapper "Dolla" was killed the other day?

Just wondering.

I agree with you on this one. But then how come when somebody related to sports dies (usually some old guy in his 80's or 90's from natural causes) the threads on this forum are all "RIP you will be missed" and so on. And when i a rapper dies everybody makes fun of his name. I don't think anybody has replied "RIP" in this thread. If you don't care about him then just ignore the thread, don't make fun of his name after he dies, that's pretty lame.

Fair point. Sad to see anyone especially that young lose their life in such a senseless way.

Fair point indeed.
That being said, when a former major leaguer dies, I at least respect the talent that he had.
I'm just not a rap fan, to each his own. I'm more of a country bumpkin. If the guy could sing like Charlie Pride, I'd have been more impressed.
But you're right, 1000's die every day, and neither myself nor dolla is more important than any of them.
Let's not defend making fun of his name though. I doubt his parents named him Dolla. IMO, the name part is fair game. Sad anyone dies at such a young age though, I agree.

I'm not a big fan of his music either. He was just starting out his music career (Kind of like the Nick Adenhart of his profession). I live in So Cal so i acutally saw the breaking news on CBS 2 when it happened. I think they interviewed his uncle and i felt bad that the uncle was crying so you have to remember this is somebody's son, nephew, cousin, etc. If somebody in your family got killed you wouldn't want a bunch of lame azzes making fun of him in a message board. So say that stuff to his family members in their face don't hide behind a computer screen and talk trash after somebody got killed. And to the guy that made that smart azz commment. How many brownie points do you want?
No one was making fun of his real God-given name. They were making fun of his made up name. Do you think he would have made less money if he went by RodB instead of Dolla? Probably not. Stick with the name your Momma gave you.
Another young one falls to violence! RIP (Never heard of him, but still sad!)

Rapper Dolla has been shot dead at a mall in Los Angeles.
The 21 year old was involved in a fight before being shot in the head on Monday in broad daylight. He was taken to the Cedars-Sinai hospital where he dies of his injuries.
The suspect apparently fled in a Mercedes SUV. Police then reportedly arrested a person of interest to the case at LA airport.
Dolla was signed to Akon’s Konvict label and had just arrived in LA to begin working on his new album.
The Atlanta native had posted a message on Twitter for the first time just a few hours before his death.
