OPC Gretzky rookie question

Question for you folks. I have a raw 1979-80 OPC Gretzky rookie that is part of a VG-Ex raw set. I would estimate that it would grade pretty low, like a 2 or a 3. Is it worth getting graded? I don't collect the set in PSA, nor am I working on a Gretzky PSA set or anything. Just wondering if it is even worth it to get graded, or is there no interest amongst hockey collectors for a low grade Gretzky rookie? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Get it graded. First, from what I understand, you cannot sell raw Gretzky rookies on eBay, second, even if it grades low it tells the buyer that the card is unaltered ie: not trimmed, and third grading gives the card authenticity.

    Even though it was a Topps, I sold this one on these boards for $60. So there is a demand. I was asking $75, took $60 very quickly and had a couple others that said if the first deal fell through that they would take it. One of the easiest sales I ever had here. It was no more than EX-Ex-MT. No creases, but no way near sharp either. I think that the key is a nice scan so that a buyer would know exactly what they are getting.

    Without question, get it graded. Even with a 2-3 , the biggest question will have been answered-Yes it is authentic original.

    Appreciated. I have looked on ebay and haven't seen one that low on there for awhile. I never really thought about the authenticity aspect. I guess I never figured anyone would fake a 2-3 card...lol.

    A lot of people trim them though
