Unofficial Group Sub III Stupid Newbie Questions Thread

I know the person putting this group sub together is busy so I thought, rather than bug them with stupid questions, I would ask the forum. Anybody else is welcome to ask questions alongside with me; I believe there is no such thing as a bad question:

1) Do I personally have to be a member of PSA?

2) Do I have to list the cards I'm submitting on a special PSA form of some kind?

3) Can I just list them in a word document or on a printout?

4) Will I be getting my holders back (CardSaver1's or equivalent)?

5) I'm not personally interested in looking online for grades; I can wait until they show up in my mailbox. But for those who do, how do you register/look up stuff online?

    1) Do I personally have to be a member of PSA?
No, but if you ask Joe Orlando, he doesn't really like it when people do group subs allowing non-members to participate. But there's nothing he can do about it, so he doesn't say anything. I tend to agree with him, only members should participate, but that's just me.

    2) Do I have to list the cards I'm submitting on a special PSA form of some kind?
    No

    3) Can I just list them in a word document or on a printout?
That would help Gumby out A LOT. I usually do it in Excel and I pattern it after the standard sub form.

    4) Will I be getting my holders back (CardSaver1's or equivalent)?
    No

It isn't made public until the grades pop, and the submitter needs to make the sub "public" so others can view it.
  • Well that was easy. Thanks a lot.

I fully intend to join PSA for what it's worth. I just won't have the buck$$$ to do so until summer.

Just do what I do and send your cards raw in rubber-bands. That way, you don't have to worry about getting your cardsavers back.

just make sure you use the cards from your bicycle spokes, use a rubber band then send them in.

I've had good luck stapling mine together. Never had one lost yet.

  • I'm going to submit a few and, seeing that I'm currently an evil non-PSA member, I don't know what the PSA form looks like. Could someone post a scan of a form so I can pattern my Excel spreadsheet after it to help gumby out?
  • Sorry for the stupid question. But you were warned...

you can also get yourself one of them hole punchers and then tie a string through it. make sure you double knot it.
