YOU HAVE TO BE FLIPPIN' KIDDING ME RIGHT?

I got this message this morning...................this is the first time i have had this happen. SO how should i respond?

Greetings, I have to tell you immediately so that hopefully things are not screwed up. My wife had actually bid on this card not realizing that I had already claimed a winning bid on the same card yesterday. So it's damn near impossible for me to buy both. I hope the confusion is not to much of a disturbance. My sincere appologies. This definitely was not premeditated or anything. I feel really bad. I would really appreciate it if I could retract this bid, or I'm going to be knee deep in some LBJ Autos that I cant pay for. Sincerely Marc& Monica

    I would make them pay for the item. Bidding is a leagal contract, and they did win the item.

    If you bid on stuff and don't have the money, you should not bid.

    I've had a couple of people try this in the past, I just insist on payment or a non paying bidder report will get filed.

    Make a second chance offer to the second-highest bidder. If he buys it, then let the other guy off the hook. That's what I did.

    You're screwed. Even if he followed up his email with an identical message cast in granite and you showed both to Ebay, Ebay would declare you to be in the wrong, NARU you, and send the scoundrel some flowers from San Francisco.

    Who cares; relist and sell it again. In the time it's going to take you to argue with this guy and try and make him pay, you could get your FVF's back, relist and sell it at probably close to the same price, if not more. Not to mention the best you can hope to accomplish is giving him a non-paying bidder strike. Doesn't seem worth the trouble.

    1. As a seller, there is nothing you can do to force a buyer to send payment.
    2. As a buyer, there is nothing you can do to force a seller to mail a card.

    I'd walk away and relist the card.

    Already second chanced the item. If that bidder doesn't want it , i will relist. Nothing i can really do, it just irks the crap out of me. Already wasted 8 days of my time with this monkeynut and now i have to relist. Got to love it! I asked the buyer to provide the item number from the other card he just bought ............(crickets) no reply.
