I've been following them closely for over 6 months now. In that time they have had MANY signed gu jerseys from Cobb, Walter Johnson and Honus Wagner. They recently had an auto and inscripted baseball by Cy Young from his very first victory!! It went for a paltry $1743! They also have Babe Ruth's bat he used in the 1932 World Series and of corse autographed with the inscription "I called my shot, Babe Ruth" They didn't even get 3 grand for it. Go to their website now. Lot #1 in the current auction is so fake I'd laugh if it wasn't sad. It is for a Mike King Kelly signed baseball that has also been dated 1890. I called an expert at the HOF on Monday and he said to his knowledge, there are NO Mike kelly signatures in existence!!
  • SCD wants their advertising revenue So they will be allowed to continue to rip off the Public Pretty Sad commentary today how $$$ is more important than doing the right thing
  • The truly sad part is that most half-azzed knowledgeable collectors know that most, if not all, of their junk is fake but people still keep buying the crap. I guess some collectors are just hoping the item may be real and they can get it at a great price.

Coaches Corner is the only thing keeping SCD alive. The relationship is symbiotic.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I'd venture to guess that this is the first time the word "symbiotic" has ever been used on this board

I actually talked to TS (I didn't refer to him by his name because I wasn't sure if I should refer to him as T.S. It reminds me of the milf from The Toy calling Jackie Gleason U.S. .......nevermind) at last years National. I was pretty much told they need the money and most people know the stuff is fake anyway. My SCD subscription ran out this week and im not running out to renew it.

T.S., good guy or not, has always been in the business of making money...that's why he proliferated unlicensed cards for so many years. Neat issues withstanding, he was making money, and using likenesses and logos, without paying for them.

As for symbiotic...I have a stupid karaoke file to the tune of that Fergie song "Fergalicious." The lyrics have been changed to "Symbiosis," and the song covers mutualism, parasitism, and commensalism. I figure I'll make my students sing it for a couple of extra bonus points next year.

For what it's worth, I got a good laugh out of this one nightcrawler image.

  • I enjoyed The Toy. How can you go wrong with Gleason and Pryor.
