New Guy Says Hi

I've trolled the boards for the last couple months and finally decided to sign up. So "HI!"
My hobby tastes are more in the mid grade cards both graded and ungraded to keep cost to a minimum. I enjoy the vintage stuff more than the current stuff (although I do love the 80's junk issues from my childhood), but I am a set builder and don't really care for the "chase" cards unless I pull something of interest out of the box or two I buy each year to build my yearly Topps set. I really just collect Topps regular issue stuff...no matter how ugly some of the more recent sets are.
Lately my collecting dollars have been spent on working on my 1957 Topps baseball set, which has the stars graded between a 4-6 with the Mantle at a 3. The rest of the set is raw. Im just 9 cards short of completing it after workin on it for nearly 2 years...which is the Brooks, Bunning, Snider, Kubek, Dodgers Sluggers, and the Yankee Power Hitters...with the Redlegs Team card, Shantz, and Darrell Johnson (I can't seem to find this guy ANYWHERE!) rounding out my needs...Im going to list the set in the registry eventually.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
never gonna find a better price

Oh , New guy welcome to the boards . My brother collects 57's .

Ive uploaded my first Set Registry, and feel offically biten by the Registry bug. Granted it will probably be finished in...oh...the next 30 years. I suppose I could get the cards graded from my raw set.

The '57 is my favorite set of all time, with '53 BC a close 2nd. The highlight of my collecting 'career' is completing the '57 in all it's raggedy, raw glory. If I had it graded, it'd be straight 1s across the board!
