PSA registry staff

It would appear that they are working hard to get requests done faster. I have had 13 cards added to master player sets in the last 2 days that previously did not match my sets.

Most likely because of the registry awards that are due out at the end of the month. Emails were sent out on April 6.

<< <i>"The deadline for the 2009 PSA Set Registry awards is just around the corner on May 29th. All requests for card additions to the player and team sets received up through April 30th will be processed and those cards will be added to the player sets prior to the deadline. Card addition requests received between May 1-May 29th will be added to the sets after May 29th. >>

Yeah once the awards are done it will most likely go back to being a 6 month wait to have cards added image

Got that email too but just never realized one was probably the result of the other.

Although it was fun to watch the Ripken Master set jump from 2,364 cards to 2,440 in one day.

I am waiting patiently for a slew of Paul Oneill cards to be added to both the Master and Basic sets. In some cases there are basic cards in the composition that arent included in the Master Set. Not sure how that happens, but very frustrating. BJ and team do a good job though overall, I do appreciate their quick emails responses when asked a question, even if I dont always get the answer I want to hear.
  • It is very sad to have to wait 4 to 5 months for some of my cards to be added. Cards are now being added in less than a week. Why can't it be like this all the time. I waited 10 months for a set to be added, only to receive an e-mail that it would not be created because the checklist is too complicated. Very sad that they do not care about something that they promote so heavily.

    Go away troll!
  • Do people create these crazy sets because they get freebies at 80% complete? How many cards have to be in the set to get the freebies?

The set that they would not add for me was the the 1981 Topps scratch off panels of 3. Psa will not add to the registry because they tell me the checlist is too complicated. What a bunch of BULL!!

Robeson ... A few years ago I tried to get the Upper Deck A Piece of History 500 HR Bat set added. Since the cards in the set were distrubuted in several UD releases over a number of years it got placed on the specialty request list. Who knows if it will ever show up.

I like this time of year. Cleans up a number of the composites. The AROD set grew again today and for all of you who bash the guy -- just let me know what cards you have and want to part with.

Free Submissions. We recognize that not every item in every important collection has been graded by PSA. In order to encourage participation in the PSA Set Registry program when your set reaches 90% complete, you are entitled free grading as follows.

If the set composition is 1-50 cards or tickets you are entitled to 1 free grading.
If the set composition is 51-150 cards or tickets you are entitled to 2 free gradings.
If the set composition is 151-300 cards or tickets you are entitled to 3 free gradings.
If the set composition is 301-750 cards or tickets you are entitled to 5 free gradings.
If the set composition is 751-1500 cards or tickets you are entitled to 6 free gradings.
If the set composition is over 1500 cards or tickets you are entitled to 7 free gradings.

Cards which are autographed and dated 1997 or earlier will need to go through the “Grading & Autograph Authentication” service. For these cards, the following free submissions apply:

If the set composition is 1-150 cards or tickets you are entitled to 1 free gradings.
If the set composition is 151-300 cards or tickets you are entitled to 2 free gradings.
If the set composition is 301-750 cards or tickets you are entitled to 3 free gradings.
If the set composition is 751-1500 cards or tickets you are entitled to 4 free gradings.
If the set composition is over 1500 cards or tickets you are entitled to 5 free gradings.

Free gradings are for items within the set that has reached 90% completion. You should request your free gradings with the intent to either add or upgrade your set with the items that are being graded for free. You cannot submit the same item twice for free grades. All items must be submitted at one time. If your set has reached 90% complete, please contact setregistry@collectors.com with your name, address and phone number, the name of the set that qualifies and whether or not your cards are autographed. You will be sent by U.S. mail a submission form to be used exclusively for your free gradings. It is your responsibility to pay for postage and insurance.

That's too bad. That's a set I'd be interested in collecting. I can't imagine that it's that much more complicated than their own Pop Report for this set would be. I would guess that 50 to 75% of the different panels have already been graded so . . . too complicated. Really?
  • I submitted a set request for the panels and they made the 1981 Topps 108 card individual scratch set. I requsted the panel and they told me NO. They told me that there were too many variations and the checklist would be impossible. This is after I collect and submit over 30 panels. They gave me the standard answer of " Make a Showcase registry." It is frustrating to watch your set move up the set request list over 9 months, only to receive an E-mail stating NO, it would take too long for us to assemble a checklist. Too many variations.

I had 6 Arod cards added to the master set yesterday.

They also requested a scan of my 2009 Topps Greg Maddux PSA 10. The card was added within minutes of me sending the scan. Wish the service would be that fast all year.

I just learned about the awards from the news letter the other day.

I don't expect anything but I'm curious because I really busted my hump on my 73s.

While on the subject, do you have to have a PSA membership to get the free grades, or is this open to anyone with a set?
