Guess the Grades on my 32 US Caramels

I will be subbing these during the current vintage special this month and I just wanted some opinions on what they would grade. There are several that have writing on the back and a few with paper loss. I just flipped the cards directly over for the scans of the backs(there are 2 Paul Waners). I'm interested to see how they come back.

It looks like most will get a MK qualifier.

I'd guess a number of 1's, with a pair of 2's (perhaps the Tunney and Gomez), and a possible Authentic on the Foxx. Also, Waner, Simmons and Foxx may be spared an (MK) qualifier. Nevertheless, that's a great lot of cards, from a very tough year, so please post some scans once your grades have returned! Good luck!

I see 1's & 2's with the MK qualifier. But these are still some pretty sweet lookin' cards!

They are nice looking cards, but I would agree with the others that 1's and 2's and most with MK qualifiers is probably what you will get.

Other than the unmarked Waner and the Foxx, I think you're looking at 1.5s and 2s, not 1s.
    Great cards.

Lindstrom is going to be a killer!

Nice cards, always liked that set, especially the Ruth- he looks especially jaunty.

Yeah there was a recent auction on ebay for psa 1mk 32 u.s caramel Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruths that he had written his name on the back. He must have owned these as well. The Gehrig brought 750 and the Ruth brought 650 I believe.

Gotcha! As I mentioned earlier, I think we'd all like to see some pics once they've returned. FYI, you should consider requesting that all cards be slabbed, regardless of their number grade. I always use the following statement on my CJ submissions, and it's worked out nicely:

"No qualifiers. Please consider authenticating any card that fails to receive a number grade. Thanks in advance."

    Just a suggestion.

I just bought a bunch of 33 goudeys and 96 topps chrome baskeball refractors so money is kinda tight right now so I put them up on ebay. I won't be that upset if they don't sell though. I just have too many projects going at once right now I guess. I really don't want to sell them because they are so hard to find but I just don't make enough money at my job to support my card habit!!!!!

No problem. I was just a little nervous since you said you were sending them in for grading and now they pop up on ebay ungraded. Were the grades you received not up to your expectations or did you decide against sending them in. Did you save the PSA flips?
  • MrVintageMrVintage Posts: 1,027 ✭✭✭
No I haven't sent them in yet. If they don't sell I'll prob send them in. Just bought a bunch of stuff recently and I am going to the national sports card convention at the end of July. Trying to get some spending money for the trip.
