No variation, just some foolish person who allowed that card to be left out in the light, causing the ink to fade away over time. That Pujols is a classic example as to why I never display any cards or autographs. Light kills.

Ink will fade before the actual card surface. Especially given the fact that it is a modern chrome card with all the special clear coats and finishes they put on those cards. They are probably better protected than most cars

Seeing that makes the other 499 that much of a better invesment every year.
P.S. Yes, I'm still waiting for him to fall back down to earth,it's been a few years and although that "injury" he had was promising, it hasn't seemed to slow him down.

I was aware that it was not an actual variation.
