Is anyone planning on subbing oversized cards for the April special?

Is anyone planning on subbing oversized cards for the April special? I have 5 oversized cards that I would like to sub. I was wondering if anyone was planning on doing a last minute sub for the april special that I could piggy back?

  • I'm subbing some cards that show pictures of oversized men. Does that count?

I've got some I could sub, but not enough to get to the 25 minimum ... I could probably come up with 5 - 10 at most.

I'm tempted - I have an unopened pack of Sportscaster cards that is calling out to me to get the Kareem and a few others graded.

    Hi,

I'm in. I have 3 sportscaster cards, 1 1980 topps team 5X7, and 1 1980 OPC Super (all hockey) for a total of 5 (maybe 6 if one card comes in in time and looks nice enough to grade)

Please keep me posted on the details, I was going to send them along with some other regular sized 4.50 specials, but would be glad to help out the board in getting a 25 min. to send.

I have at least 10 I want to send
  • Cool thread!

I think logistics may be a problem here, considering that April 30 is Thursday. All cards would probably have to be sent to one person by overnight mail. By the time you pay for overnight mail, especially if you are subbing only 5 cards, it might cost just as much as a normal submission. JMO

HAHAHA Bill ... after I initially responded I started getting some together (I have some '71 Milk Dud boxes I wanted to get slabbed) and then started wondering how we could get all the cards together and postmarked TO PSA by Thursday?

I think the best way would be to pair up with another guy that lives close to you. Now that I think about it, I have 15 oversize cards. I would be willing to do a sub with one other person.

I think we have some time. If the cards are shipped priority mail to me or whomever is doing the sub by Monday there should be enough time to get them in the mail. If you are trully interested in subbing your jumbos please PM me with the exact number of cards. As long as I don't get swamped with 100 cards I should have plenty of time to geth them in the mail Wednessday.

We should have enough to send. If the cards are shipped Priority Monday then we should be ok with time. Please PM me if you would like to o a group sub and exactly how many cards you will be sending. So far I have one response (Dboneesq). I will figure out shipping totals later today.

Lets not forget that there is a 25 card minimum for EACH category

    up to '71

    '72 to present

I may have a few other issues, but the Milk Duds are '71s.

I could sub a couple '80 Topps Super Payton cards I have.
Are those '85 McDonald's football cards oversized, I have a Payton I would sub from that also.

All 5 of mine are from 80's and 00's. I have only recieved 1 4sure so far, so please let me know if you are serious about subbing some oversized cards. We need to move quickly to get the April grading special. I was really busy this weekend and wasn't able to figure in the shipping totals. I don't mind fronting the $ for the shipping. I would imagine that it will be close to $1.00 per card.

It seems as though there are not anough pre '72 cards. I guess I will pass on this submission.

Is this a no go with the jumbos? Leathtech and Dboneesq are the only two that have said they are in.

No ... look above ... my cards are '71s and it does not seem like there are enough pre '72s to make the minimum ... so I guess I am out.

I wish I would have seen this about a week ago. I have about 10-12 Pucketts that I've been accumulating; also not enough to make the 25 card minimum. Maybe next time.

Whatever came of this potential submission? If there is another future submission for oversize cards I'd like to be in on it for 5-6 cards.

The April Special was an unbelievable deal on super size grading at $4.50. Even with the current special you are looking at $7.50 per. $15 without any special going forward.

I wasn't even aware that super sizes were eligible until I read this thread. I submitted a complete 1993 Finest Jumbo Set under the April Special at the last minute.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.
