Trying to buy unsold items after winning an auction...

On Sunday I won an auction on Ebay, and immediatly emailed the seller asking him if he'd be interested in also selling me a particular set that went unsold a few days earlier. No responce. On Tuesday he sent out an Ebay invoice for the item I won. I sent another email to his personal email address asking about the unsold item. So far, no responce to my 2nd email.
Some people say "no" with silence. How long should I wait before I assume that he's not interested?

C-Assume he's already not interested. Because...
Either he makes $ on shipping and dont want to combine or wants more than the min bid.
Maybe he's afraid of a "off ebay" sale and fears getting kicked off. I've had people like that. I'd email one more time, mention you'll do it on ebay, if that's a concern. Wait 2 days and if no response.....go to step A.

I asked seller if he would still like to sell item....he said yes - for $3 delivered.
Not much money but more than item closed at with no bids...so I passed.

Last year I had a 1986 Donruss Rookies Will Clark PSA 10 and a 1986 Donruss Highlights Will Clark PSA 10 up with $49.99 opening bids. Both closed in 7 days with no bidders. I relisted them with a $24.99 opening bids. 7 days later the "Rookies" Clark closed for $152.50 (9 bidders), and the Highlights Clark ended at $102.50 (4 bidders).
Funny how that works. Sometimes having the right people see your auction makes all the difference.
As for my original post, the item was a small set that sells commonly on Ebay for $12/dlvd. His ended auction was right around $12/dlvd. I saw a number of other BINs on Ebay with similar prices, so I went ahead and paid for the item I bought and will buy the set from someone else. No point in waiting.
