Ever bid up other items to make yours look better?

Here is the back story...
I am in the market for a 2008 Bowman Chrome Jason Heyward auto. So I started looking on Ebay. I see that over the last few weeks they are selling from $30 to $36. I found a seller that has one as a buy it now with best offer. So, I send an offer of 31. He counter with 43. I re-counter with 34. He then sends 40. This all happens with in an hour. I email him saying that I am interested but they have only been selling for the above prices. I do say that I am willing to go to 36 if the shipping is in line and I am not overcharged (as it is not stated for shipping to Canada).
Anyway, he replies back that he says the last sold for 36 (which it didn't) and that he is on a tear right now and won't let his (he does have 6) go for less than 40.
I say thanks and move on.
then I see that some one has just bid up all the Heywards that are running in auction format. I check the bids and see that they are the same person and looking at the feedback it is him...think this is kind of sh#tty of him.

Whatever the motivation, I see at as a Duoch bag move. I wouldn't give the guy a penny of my money and would add him to my list of "Never, and I mean Ever, Ever" Buy from, period.

<< <i>Why get a 2008 Bowman Chrome Jason Heyward when you can get a 2007 Bowman Chrome Jason Heyward? If you need an autographed one, the 2007 Bowman Sterling Jason Heyward has one. >>
I am looking for an autograph one. As for the sterling I hate the silver stickers and would like the player touched bowman chrome (which also sells higher).
