Youkilis .425 Texiera .179

Gold glover at 1st.
Probable gold glover at 3rd.
Plays a great left field too.

Was MVP runner up last year to Pedroia.

Tex has only finished 7th at best in the MVP race ever.

Yeah, you're right, Tex will always be better then Youkilis. image

Youk is probably 15 million cheaper then Tex too, meaning we don't have to pay 2,500.00 per seat to watch our team play image

This thread is amusing. It takes all of two or three games for averages / numbers to tank or soar this early in the season.

Tex is a year younger then Youk. Those $2,500 seats compromise less then 0.22% of the seats in yankee Stadium.

On the bright side, tex's early season .179 blows away Fat Papi's average image

Good point about Big Papi's average. At least he's got more World Champion rings though!

    True that!

Seriously though PAPI needs to get back on the juice- I dont think he will come close to 35 hr's this year even though he is supposedly "healthy"

if Papelbon wasn't so keen on 375 foot fly ball outs to RF, the Sox should move in their fences like at Yankee Stadium

When did the Yankees move fences in? The nbew Stadium has the same dimensions as the old.

Just looked him up. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, went to the University of Cincinnati where he was an All-American twice and set many school records, loved the Reds and dreamed of playing for them as a kid- and they passed on him in the draft 8 times!!!

Stupid, stupid, stupid!! It's not like he was a diamond in the rough, but a solid ballplayer from way back in his AAU playing days.

Also just read he was in the Melanie Griffith movie "Milk Money", which was filmed in Cincinnati, and even had a line in the movie.

What I'm saying is, he should be on our team!! image

Good thing Coco plays for KC now. Next time you post do some research before you say something dumb like this.

IIRC Tex is a slow starter. He will end up with his usual numbers. The key will be his post-season performance (if they make it).

The Coco Crisp comment from that poster was in regard to this edmundfitgerald mope yammering on how Coco Crisp was going to have a good year for the Red Sox this year...and he didn't even realize he was no longer with the team!

Now this poster is using a batting average in mid April as 'proof' of a better hitter, and he does not even realize the futility in such an exercise.

Before the mope misunderstands my comment, it is not in regard to the players in question and who is better, but the method he is using.

edmundfitzgerald, by the way, it is NOT spelled "Texiera." I wonder if you realize how it is pronounced.

Softparade, when I am on the front lines of battling archaic sports thought processes, when I am battling ignoramous fools who have one hand on their manhood and a picture of their hero in their other hand; when I find myself engaged in a debate with men who wish to have Albert Pujols's man goo on their chin...and when BIAS reigns, I will tend to irritate somebody sometime.

Not as classic as what Tex did against Papelbon with men on second and third last night,
and what Youk did in the 11th image

Maybe we'll start calling him Chokexera.
