What are the toughest baseball PSA 9's from the 60's?

I didn't renew with PSA last year, so I don't have access to the population report.

Just curious as to what the current toughest baseball cards from the 60's in PSA 9 are now.

Anyone? Thanks in advance.

  • Any major rookie because most people who have them aren't getting rid of them anytime soon and there isn't too much unopened out there than people are going to open. As far as population, I don't have a membership either. Hope that helps. image

1962 Jim Bunning was always tough. I have an old label PSA 8 that's had a few trips out west for reviews (all pre-half grades). As of my last review (about a year ago), there were still ZERO PSA 9's.

There are quite a few others that are ZERO pops and many 1 of 1's.

Thanks, loco, but what I am curious about is what 60's baseball cards are considered low pop now.

For example, the 62 George Witt in PSA 9 used to be considered a low pop card from the 60's. Thanks.

1969T #85 Lou Brock....only 1 PSA 9, no 10 out of over 350 graded examples.....there are almost 20,000 PSA 9 examples for the entire set, so this single card would have to rank as one of the toughest, at least from what i've seen in the recent years.

    Robert,
You can somewhat determine the pops by using the registry. You can go to a set with close to a 9.00GPA and look at the pop and the cards graded higher. If they have a few 8's in there you can use the graded higher to figure out if it is "low pop". Hope that helps.

    1961 Topps Dice
    1968 Topps 3-D

would have to rank up there
    1966 and 1967 Topps Punch-Outs

but it seems like perhaps you were asking about the mainstream, broadly distributed issues?
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Mike, you are correct about my interest in mainstream issues. But, thanks very much for your input.image

I really like the punch outs and the 3d's, though. Would love to have the funds to collect those in high grade someday.

Last year I sold my 100% PSA graded 1968 set. It was as high as ~#12 on The Registry. I remember MICKEY LOLICH being one of the hardest cards in the set to get in high grade. If I remember correctly, centering was a big issue with that card.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
