Is this 1959 Topps Rack For real????

Good Day,
Looks fishy to me, been doing Non Sports for years and years and never seen one of these (Fabian). Was Topps doing Hobby Card racks in 1959 that would allow this to be Real?

E-Bay Auction # 370185493091

Thanks
Neil
Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!

The bigger question is what in the heck are you doing searching for Fabian cards? image

Anyway - I can't imagine it's real. the cello looks brand new. Unless is was stored absolutely perfectly for all those years, there is no way that is original packaging.

Neil ... ask the seller to email you a close up of the header card ... take a look at the staples and see what they look like.

Possible it could be real. Either way, I dont think the seller knows based on his feedback. I cant imagine someone keeping that good of feedback for years and then decides to sell a fake "Fabian" pack of cards
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

That's just the way Neil rolls. I called him a little while ago and he said he would have to call me back. He was in an intense bidding war for some Jackson 5 wax packs.

Does $.29 for a rack back in '59 sound right??? ... isn't that kinda high for those times????

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

LOL, Good One Bill...............I just choked on my Coke....... Yeehhahimageimageimage

.29 cents was used in Hobby racks in 1962 for Civil War News, but I just can't believe I've never seen one for Fabian (and or 1959), before in all my meanderings in the Non Sports world. But I guess anything is possible. I will E-mail him and ask for close up. What am I looking for while looking at the staples?

Rust, but staples are easily artificially aged.

Hey Neil, my sisters still have a bunch of New Kids on the Block cards from the early 90s.

If you're interested, I'll see if they're willing to sell.
  • My honest opinion is that the seller at least believes they are legit. Based on his feedback and some of the items he has sold, I would have to believe that he is at least an honest seller. Sold a few lots of auto'd cards of players that no one would fake the autos.

    All,
And you never know they may be real, I've just never seen them before, And Yes I will be getting one for my unopened collection. (Real or ????)
Fabian cards are one of the sets from the 50's that for some reason there are millions and millions around in high grade. A set, if you shop around, should set you back no more that $20-30 bucks. And this is for a 55 card 1950's set.
And you can't give away PSA graded, I've seen 9's go for $2-3 bucks. I dabbled in them a few years ago, subbing them, after a couple of good returns on lots, the Market just disappeared.

I am going to ask if he has a quantity and what the story is on them.

    Good day,
So, somebody needs to come out of the Closet here, the high bid on that rack, when I found it earlier today was like .54 cents. Then I come on here and start talking about it and next thing you know it's up to $30 bucks with two days left.

    Is that you Bill ????????????????

Somebody else a Closet Fabian Lover????

    Wasn't/Isn't me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the random packs you have sent me for my collection, I would never do that to you. Jackson 5 packs on the other hand, well may be the best man win.
  • The first thing that caught my eye was the perfectly clear cellophane with nice straight edges and no curling whatsoever. Either the rak was kept in a vacuum chamber for 50 years and not subjected to the earth's environment (i.e. Michael Jackson) or it is bogus--I say bogus..

Agreed...no way that cellophane is 50 years old...I doubt it's even 5 years old, LOL..

Agree with the two prior posters ... but why the hell make up a FABIAN pack? Gonna be an a$$hole, you might as well go for a Pack that's gonna bring you decent bucks!!!
