Opinions Wanted: Trimmed or not?

Hey guys,

This particular seller has been a stand-up guy, and the only opinion I'm seeking is related to the 1915 Cracker Jack Schalk card. Please pay close attention to the lower left-hand corner and whether or not you think it's been trimmed.

Thanks in advance,

Scout

It's hard to tell where the card actually ends from the pic, but measuring side to side the top seems to be a bit longer.

I submit that it has not.. looks like a tilt

The corner does appear to taper in a bit. However, since the card appears to have been professionally graded, I don't know if you'll be able to make a very good case to the seller (assuming you may want to return it) about returning it.

  • I think it is more of a Tilt of the card... But I see where it appears to be trimmed..

Because I did not get the response that I wanted and I hope some people will say it is trimmed based on my heavily biased, slanted and angled pictures.
  • The area of concern is obvious but to me so is the tilt of the card. I'd say it's good.

Does it seem a bit strange that only one corner is not rounded? The lower left looks completely different than the other three corners.

Hey there, Allen. The bump was my attempt to enlist additional opinions from the night crew. The images are from the seller, as this is a card that I'm interested in buying, though the lower left-hand corner concerns me. I believe that "if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't," but I wanted to get the opinion of other, more knowledgeable collectors. I want the card, mind you, but I don't want to be impulsive. That said, I sure appreciate you bringing some good cheer to my thread this evening because today had been such a downer until you showed up.

Looks trimmed to me because it does taper inward with a sharper cut. However, I'm not sure why anyone would bother doing this to only one corner when the other 3 are still low grade.

Not trimmed. Factory Miscuts in 1914-15 were a regular occurance

I don't know, buy it and see.

Without this particular example being in hand it is tuff
    to give an opinion.

It is in a PSA holder?

    Steve
    Good for you.

No, Steve, it's been slabbed by BVG (3), and I've since declined to purchase it. It's a shame because I really wanted the card, but there are others to be had.
