WHICH CHIPPER JONES RC?

I want to purchase a Chipper Jones RC and am looking for an opinion as to which will be the better investment long term out of these two:

1991 Topps Tiffany PSA 10

or

1991 Topps Desert Shield PSA 9

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you have either to sell let me know

Definitely the Desert Shield one. I will also submit that an OPC one (not the Premier version) in PSA 9 or better would still be a better investment than the Tiffany. The '91 Tifanny is much scarcer than the issues of previous years, but of those out there, the conditions are generally pretty good. There's a lot of 9s and 10s throughout the set.

In my opinion the Desert Shield are much tougher to find. I would go with that one. I do not know the print run on either, but Desert Shield does not come up as often it seems.

Desert Shield is estimated at 2000 print run. Topps Tiffany had a print run of 5000, and they're basically all PSA 9 or 10.

Hi Matt,

1991 Topps Desert Shield Chipper Jones PSA 9s have been selling for a tad less than $200, while the 1991 Topps Tiffany Chipper Jones PSA 9s have been selling for around $60!

Not sure about the PSA 10 prices for a Tiffany, but I would go with the Desert Shield in a PSA 9 or 10.

This 1991 Topps Tiffany Chipper Jones PSA 9 went for $61.01 on March 7, 2009.

On the other hand, this 1991 Topps Desert Shield Chipper Jones PSA 9 went for $245.50 back on March 1, 2009.

And best of all, this 1991 Topps Desert Shield Chipper Jones PSA 10 went for $1,175.00 back on February 19, 2009.

By way of comparison, this 1991 Topps Desert Shield Chipper Jones BGS 9.5 went for $710.00 back on February 6, 2009.

Another, 1991 Topps Desert Shield Chipper Jones PSA 10 went for $1,326.08 back on January 29, 2009.

His '91 Bowman gets no love, but I like it more than his regular topps RC. Of course, it pails in comparison to his Tiff. or Desert Shield Rc's.
I haven't seen many OPC's, that one would be a sweet find too if you could score one in a PSA 9/10.

Best of luck! Chipper should be a first ballot'r! Like him, love him, or hate him... the guy can play!

I also give more credit to those players that can play their entire career on one team... a rare thing anymore, no matter the sport.

I do too. I can only think of two that have been with the same organization from the start of their career Chipper Jones and Derek Jeter.

I trade these a bit. Last fall I sold a rock solid PSA 9 for $610. Bought a few of them in the $250-300 range over the last few years. If one sold for less than $200 I'd be very surprised, so Jack's $61 is a STEAL!!
