Visiting Team Hotels

For all of the IP autograph collectors out there I thought it would be intersting to have a thread for hotels where visiting teams stay when they come into town.

I live in miami beach in a trump building that is connected to a hotel called the Trump Sonesta. I moved in last year and was not very alert as to the large teams busses that were always pulling up in front. I finally asked and the valet told me that teams stay at the hotel pretty often when they play the Marlins.

So first hotel I know of is:

Trump Sonesta
Sunny Isles Beach

I was in the elevator with Bobby Cox once.

I know visiting teams used to stay at the Hyatt in Downtown Cincinnati.

I think only "Slump busters" should be allowed at the teams hotel.

In SacTown they stay at the Hyatt or the Sheraton downtown. Although there is some new river front hotel, not near anything, which has supposedly convinced a couple teams to stay at. However, one visit and the teams won't go back since the players can't walk to bars or stores or anything. I was having a business breakfast one day at the Hyatt restarant, back about 6 years ago, when most of the Utah Jazz came in for breakfast. They were in their sweat suits even. Sort of funny. Stockton was there!

I believe the AL team is staying at the Discreet Motel in East St. Louis. Not sure where the NL team is staying.

the NL will be bunking out on Albert Pujols forearms.
  • When teams come to San Diego, majority of them stay at the Omni. Completely sucks if you're an autograph hound and trying to get anyone to sign since there is a bridge from the hotel to the ballpark. But, the great thing about San Diego, if you hit up the restaurants within a couple blocks, you're bound to find some players taking in a bite.

I heard that some of the teams this year might be staying at the Motel 6's.

When in Kansas City, visiting teams stay at Crown Plaza or Ritz Carlton.

When in Milwaukee, most visiting teams stay at The Pfister. Most fans hang out on the corner of Wisconsin & Jefferson because there are entrances on both the front and side of the buildings.

I work across the street, so I see fans hanging out on the corner all summer long with bats, balls, cards, pictures, you name it...
